The United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund (UNJSPF) is an independent inter-agency body established by the United Nations General Assembly. The applicable human resources procedures are governed by a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Fund and the UN Secretariat.
Any candidate from a member organization of the UNJSPF applying for this post is considered as an internal candidate provided he/she has been appointed through the appointment and promotion procedures applicable in his/her respective organization.
Staff members are subject to the authority of the Secretary-General and to assignment by him or her. In this context, all staff are expected to move periodically to new functions in their careers in accordance with established rules and procedures.

Working hours: May be required to work shift assignments on weekdays to maintain 24x7 service coverage. The incumbent may be required to work holidays and weekends.

This position is located in the Information Technology Operations Unit (ITOU) of the Information Management Systems Service in the United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund (UNJSPF).
ITOU is responsible for the provision of Information and Communication Technology Services, such as website, network maintenance, desktop management, and application support.
The Information Systems Officer (Data Manager) reports to the Database Administrator (P4)and the Chief, ITOU.
工作內(nèi)容
Within delegated authority, the incumbent will be responsible for the following duties:
?Manages the daily production output of all Batch, Reports and large Queries needed to deliver knowledge for daily operations using the on-site Oracle based ERP services known as V3 (Vitech Inc.). Review with operational managers and the supervisor the daily batch processes, review the conditions for warning and /or failure with operational managers and any esclation to operational staff on issues, priortize the nightly batch run and montior the output. Perform a nightly review of all batches and report run each evening, note all warnings and failures and review daily with the supervior and update the batch / report issue log as needed. Review the daily backup log for issues and report accordingly and update the backup issue log as needed. Preform the nightly system refreshes as assigned by the supervisor, note any issues in the process and review daily with the supervisor.
?Develops detailed system and other functional specifications and user documentation for daily production services.
?Support, maintains, upgrades or enhances existing user V3 production and non-production database systems, with the Supervisor, troubleshoots and provides continuing user support, to include resolving difficult problems, advising on the use of new techniques, monitoring transactions to measure performance and continued effectiveness of assigned systems, etc.
?Develops and maintains computer tools that require integration of many interrelated systems and program elements; ensures appropriate data security and access controls considering both local and wide area issues.
?Organizes and performs unit and integrated testing, designing and utilizing test bases; assists users in acceptance testing.
?Develops training materials, operating and user manuals; trains staff in assigned tools.
?Researches, analyzes and evaluates new technologies and makes recommendations for their deployment.
?Participates in writing reports and papers on systems-related topics, system requirements, information strategy, etc. Facilitates communications between ITOU and its clients for good client relations.

專業(yè)要求
Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent degree) in computer science, information systems, mathematics, statistics or related field. A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
工作經(jīng)驗
A minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in planning, design, development, implementation and maintenance of computer information systems or related area is required. Experience in Oracle database administration or equivalent is required. Experience in managing and Oracle EBS General Ledger services is desirable.
語言要求
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this position fluency in English (both oral and written) is required; working knowledge of another official UN language would be an asset.
